Make Your Own Christmas Gift Decor

I love Christmas and knew that I had to get a start on making new decor to change up my hot cocoa bar this Christmas. These DIY Christmas wood block gift decor are going to be the perfect decor pieces to switch up my Christmas Hot Cocoa bar this year.

I am so excited for December to finally arrive so I can get out all my Christmas decorations and start making my home look like Santa’s Workshop! I may start decorating a little earlier this year than usual now that I have these present wood blocks complete!

Follow along with me in this tutorial as I show you how to make the cutest Christmas wood block gift decor you can use in your own home this Christmas season.

Supplies need for Christmas wood block gift decor:

Steps to Make a DIY Christmas Wood block Gift Decor:

  1. Grab your piece of wood and start painting all sides black. Using a sponge paint brush making sure you get all the edges covered.
  2. Cut your selected scrapbook paper to fit the front of your wood block. Then apply modge podge to the top of the wood and lay your scrapbook paper down. Using a flat edge going from the center out squeeze all that extra modge podge out.
  3. Take a cloth or napkin and wipe the excess modge podge off of the edges.
  4. Now using your second piece of scrapbook paper repeat the same steps. above. Cut your paper to fit the wood board.
  5. Modge podge the paper onto your board.
  6. Using a squeezy move all the excess modge podge to the edges of your wood piece
  7. Then wipe the excess off using your cloth.
  8. Using twine wrap it around your wood block like a present. Start with your wood piece face down and hot glue the twine to the back before bringing it to the front to help hold it in place. Once the glue is dry flip your board back over face up and cross them over and tie a bow
  9. Take some greenery stems and add to the middle under your bow. Place some hot glue down to help hold the greenry in place.
